What is Multicultural Hour?

	•Multicultural Community Hour (MCH) at the University of Missouri is a weekly informal, round-table discussion where international students and visiting scholars are invited to interact with American friends in a casual atmosphere. Q: Can I just listen?

A: Sure. The discussion is really informal, and you can talk or listen as you wish. Some international students find that it’s a very good opportunity to practice their listening skills. They also find patient, interested listeners when they want to practice their English. Feel free to join us by listening to others’ stories and/or sharing yours!

Q: Is there a cost?

A: No, it’s free. Cookies, tea and coffee are also provided.

Q: Who can participate?

A: Multicultural Community Hour is for international students from all over the world. We also welcome anyone from the local Columbia community.

Q: What do you do during the Multicultural Community Hour?

A: In upcoming weeks we will recognize and discuss cultural differences, traditional festivals, interesting stories and social customs from around the world.
