PEPI: Professional English Proficiency and Internship

pepi-new The Professional English Proficiency and Internship (PEPI) program is an intense 16-week English instruction and internship program. It is designed for professionals who have a strong desire to improve business English skills and who want to gain international working experience through professional internships in the United States.

The PEPI program is set in a college town in the heart of America. Participants reside in furnished private apartments adjacent to the university, two blocks from the heart of the city. This safe, friendly community is ideally situated to provide both rural and urban experiences.

EPI consists of three components:

  • Business English Classes
Business English classes will be conducted throughout a four-week period focusing on practical English, business writing, telephone etiquette, public speaking and American culture.
  • American Culture and Field Trips
The 16-week program will be interjected with field trips and cultural site visits in Columbia and in Missouri to further expose participants to American culture.
  • Internship
PEPI participants are given the unique opportunity to observe American work places through a 12-week internship program at private corporations, government and university offices, IT-related companies, media companies, hotels and non-profit agencies. By establishing relationships with their co-workers, participants have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as well as hone their business English skills.
